Hi all. So I've done a Cisco CallManager deployment back when I worked for an enterprise, but now I'm trying to find appropriate products for my customers. After much reviewing, it seems that 3CX is a fairly popular choice for Windows based shops. I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to give me a little insight into their standard operating procedures for a 3CX system.

I guess I'm finding a little disconnect on 'ease of deployment' for the 3CX system. With Cisco, there's alot of upfront configuration to do it right (Partitions, CSS, dialing plans, etc), but the handset configuration/management was always super easy after (create a phone, assign a DN, plug in phone, switch/phone automatically do voice/data VLAN.). Best hacked client for mac. I could configure a Cisco phone in <1 minute.
On the 3CX side, it seems reversed. all the 'complicated' upfront set it and forget it system configuration is pretty easy. Then the phone management seems to take massaging - you create an extension, then you create a device and assign it to a phone, then you either have to go into the HTTP of the phone and provide it the provisioning URL, or use DHCP options (which is fine as well) - but I'm having a bit of a disconnect on how even if the phone is provisioned, how it defines what line it will be assigned to. then I'm also kind of curious if people tend to use LLDP, the DHCP option, or other method of assigning the voice VLAN. It seems that all of this stuff is readily configurable from the phone interface - but if I end up deploying 60 of these handsets, I don't want to 'manually' configure each device.
Browser based sql client for mac. Anyways, I'm trying to understand the best practices for doing the phone deployment/provisioning and was wondering what SOPs people might have and being willing to share. I'm using Yealink handsets. Thanks!

The 3CX site is very well documented. While I can't share our internal operating procedures it is very easy. When you configure an extension for a user you have the option to add phones in the appropriate tab. 3CXPhone for Android, Windows and Mac are automatically configured to be able to be used as remote extensions using the 3CX Tunnel or in direct STUN mode depending on the setting of the extension. No configuration at all is required on the client side. 3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System 3 3CXPhone for 3CX Phone System is an iOS client for 3CX Phone System that allows. From anywhere.
